About Me
- Eric D. Jones Jr.
- I am a second year student at the University of Georgia, double-majoring in Broadcast News and Political Science. I was primarily raised by my paternal grandmother in the small town of Vidalia, Georgia. Her teachings and lessons have led me to have an undeniable thirst for knowledge and new experiences. My upbringing, experiences, and education have greatly impacted my perspective on life and the way I view the world and inevitably politics. I share the sentiments of many when I say that I began to follow politics religiously during the meteoric rise of a then unknown Junior Senator from Chicago named Barack Obama who went on to become the first African-American President of the United States. Through my involvement in the 2008 Presidential Election, I realized exactly how vital politics are to our society because decisions made in Washington, D.C., affect the nation and the entire world as a whole.
